Erupting Volcano

An experiment animating a volcanic eruption from a single still image, using parallaxing and post-production techniques in Adobe After Effects.

To enhance the realism of the animation we also added in camera artefacts, including lens blur and dust on the lens. Traditional photographers tend to try and avoid these artefacts; however in 3D modelling and computer generated scenes the focus is on enhancing realism, and help the viewer believe that the scene is real.
